Building Energy Modeling

Beall & Associates, Inc. makes full use of Building Energy Modeling technologies in the design of building systems. Primary uses include the following:

  • Evaluate Environmental Impact of Projects
  • Energy Consumption Analysis of Alternatives – Architectural, Mechanical
  • Economic Analysis of Alternatives – Architectural, Mechanical
  • LEED Certification
  • Energy Code Compliance

Software Used:

  • DOE 2.2
  • eQuest
  • IES
  • Trace
  • fChart

Currently, Richard L. Beall is the only Hawaii engineer to have earned the Building Energy Modeling Professional certification from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, (ASHRAE).

This ASHRAE certification program attests to an individual’s ability to evaluate, choose, use, calibrate and interpret the results of energy modeling software when applied to building and systems energy performance and economics. It also confirms an individual’s competence to model new and existing buildings and systems with their full range of physics.
